Village for AIDS Orphans
Kampong Speu, Cambodia

Art in a Box hired Bong Koeun, a Cambodian master temple mural painter, to teach art, stone carving and musical instrument-making to children with AIDS at New Hope for Cambodian Children’s (NHCC) village for AIDS orphans in Takmao, Cambodia. The children now have grandfather-teacher and Bong Koeun, who is 60 years old, can come down from the scaffolding. Our hope is that some of the children will choose to follow Bong Koeun’s example and choose careers in traditional Cambodian arts!
Master painter Bong Koeun stands by the mural paintings he created for Wat Koh, a temple in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Bong Koeun conducts an art lesson for children at New Hope for Cambodian Children’s Village for AIDS orphans.
