Majuro and Laura, The Marshall Islands

Art in a Box delivered art resources and conducted art classes for middle and high school students in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Our activities included Art Classes at Laura High School and the Assumption MIddle School. Our students demonstrated a high level of artistic skill even though they had not had any prior art instruction.

Art is widely understood in the community as something new that can help children at risk develop self esteem; it is an opportunity for education and training that can assist in the critical need for income generation; it can help young people cope with depression and substance abuse.
