Art an Enrichment Activities for Children Affected by AIDS
Phnom Penh and Takmao, Cambodia
Ninety children from the slum communities of Phnom Penh enjoyed a day in the
countryside on a recent Art in a Box field trip. We started out early in the
morning, by having breakfast and singing songs on the bus. The children visited
the Phnom Penh zoo, had a picnic lunch and visited an ancient Cambodian temple.
Each child received a sketchbook and pencils so they could continue to practice
their artwork and received an Art in Society Art Award Certificate. The
certificates recognize the children for their courage as young art makers and
promotes the role of young artists in society. It was a happy day!
Cambodian children from the slums enjoy a day in the countryside during an Art
in a Box field trip.
The children receive awards, sketchpads and pencils.
