The Cambodian Doll and Fashion Arts Project: Art for Trafficked Girls and Women at Risk
Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Art in a Box has initiated a unique training program to help trafficked girls and women at risk, to generate their own income through art and design. The program, conducted in partnership with the Cambodian Women’s Crisis Centre (CWCC) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, draws on Cambodia’s renowned textile traditions and the universal appeal of dolls to promote opportunities for the girls and women to generate income through the sale of their original artwork and jewelry. The project is the first art program for trafficked girls and women at risk in Cambodia. Our goal is to empower the girls and women with design skills, financial literacy and jobs. View art
